Хотя мой вязанный плед еще не закончен, другая половина этой идеи (носки) готова!
Как приятно (и со стилем тоже!) будет устроиться с книжкой или посмотреть хороший фильм на удобном диване в мягких носках и под пледом из шетландской пряжи. А еще лучше перед камином с фужером вина … за окном темно и тихо падает снег… Вот что делают 10 лет жизни в тропическом климате, я серьёзно мечтаю о зиме (и о камине, лучше франзузском антикварном, хотя и репродукция сойдет, если хорошая только).
Ближе к теме, носки получились отличные. Рисунок – несколько видов жгутов, разные впереди и сзади носка. Вязание жгутов обычно замедляет скорость работы, потому что нужно все время снимать и переставлять петли, но результат стоит потраченного времени. Для меня очень важны детали и чем детальнее работа тем она мне больше нравится. Так же как и моя любовь к вязанию несколькими цветами, в технике Fair Isle, а также норвежкой.
А пока, носки спрятаны в камод, новая работа начата и я уже обожаю пока еще её небольшую выполненую часть.

just a quick update… I’m still here, very busy with my knitting. There is less than two weeks left before we’ll be taking off for the States and I still have tons to do. I’m going to spend the whole summer in Virginia just outside Washington DC and am planning to bring a new knitting and an embroidery projects with me but still have to prepare all the necessary items for them.
I’ll post my almost finished knitting as soon as it’s done, so don’t forget to check later.

Осталось меньше двух недель до нашего отъезда в Америку, а у меня еще куча работы, в частности нужно подготовить все необходимое для моих новых работ, которые я беру с собой. Я буду все лето в Виржинии, в пригороде Вашингтона и в добавок к тому, что скорее всего буду ОЧЕНЬ занята более важным делом (об этом немного позже), рукоделие также большая часть моей жизни.
I love pearls! White, black, multicolored. This necklace I made yesterday for a friend who really liked my pearl necklaces, so she decided to order one for herself. The pearls are multicolored, 10 to 12 mm in diameter and the clasp is silver. It’s classic and I think every woman should have a pearl necklace.

В добавок к другому моему любимому рукоделию, я так же делаю бусы. Больше всего я люблю жемчуг. Разный. Белый, черный, цветной.
Моя американская подруга всегда восхищается моими бусами и недавно заказала нитку цветного жемчуга моей работы.
Обычно я использую серебряные застежки, но также делаю и с золотыми.
Эти бусы из цветного жемчуга я сделала для Kathleen. Размер жемчуга от 10 до12 мм, серебряная застежка и как и положено узлы между жемчужинами.
Жемчуг – это классика и каждая женщина должна иметь хотя бы одни жемчужные бусы.

this is the last time I’m posting about this red beetle embroidery. But as it’s all done I have to do that, right?
So here it is, a very nice cushion for my son’s room.

See the piping? I ended up making it from the same linen I used for the cushion and I think it is the best.
Here is the back side of the cushion with of course my favorite mother-of-pearl buttons.
embroidery is all finished, embroidery cloth pulled off, fabric is washed and ironed. The next step is to make it into a cushion cover. Yesterday I went to buy some cord for the cushion piping but could not find one that is perfect. I bought two different kinds of cord though and after matching them with the linen I embroidered on I’m still not sure. I also bought fabric to make the cushion piping with, but again not sure it will look right. I cannot believe I’m so fussy with just a cushion cover. I guess it is the perfectionist in me that tortures me more and more.
At the same time it is a small project like this that teaches you to appreciate work done by designers, artists, architects and all the creative people. You understand better that choosing the right color, shape and proportion is not a given but the fruit of endless hours of work and lots of energy.

I really enjoyed working on this embroidery. It’s an easy project with great result. So now it’s time for sewing to get this done and move on to another project that I’m all ready for.

закончен, канва вытянута, вышивка постирана и отутюжена. Следующий шаг – сшить наволочку. Вчера я была в районе, где продаётся всё для рукоделия в поисках подходящего готового рулика, но так и не смогла найти наиболее подходящий. Скорее всего выберу один из двух, что вчера купила.
Я получила огромное удовольствие работая над этой вышивкой – лёгкость с отличным результатом!
*хотела написать больше об этой работе, но без русских букв на клавиатуре, это превращается в пытку (мой новый ноутбук ждёт буквы-наклейки высланные с Украины).
