this is the last time I’m posting about this red beetle embroidery. But as it’s all done I have to do that, right?
So here it is, a very nice cushion for my son’s room.

See the piping? I ended up making it from the same linen I used for the cushion and I think it is the best.
Here is the back side of the cushion with of course my favorite mother-of-pearl buttons.
embroidery is all finished, embroidery cloth pulled off, fabric is washed and ironed. The next step is to make it into a cushion cover. Yesterday I went to buy some cord for the cushion piping but could not find one that is perfect. I bought two different kinds of cord though and after matching them with the linen I embroidered on I’m still not sure. I also bought fabric to make the cushion piping with, but again not sure it will look right. I cannot believe I’m so fussy with just a cushion cover. I guess it is the perfectionist in me that tortures me more and more.
At the same time it is a small project like this that teaches you to appreciate work done by designers, artists, architects and all the creative people. You understand better that choosing the right color, shape and proportion is not a given but the fruit of endless hours of work and lots of energy.

I really enjoyed working on this embroidery. It’s an easy project with great result. So now it’s time for sewing to get this done and move on to another project that I’m all ready for.

закончен, канва вытянута, вышивка постирана и отутюжена. Следующий шаг – сшить наволочку. Вчера я была в районе, где продаётся всё для рукоделия в поисках подходящего готового рулика, но так и не смогла найти наиболее подходящий. Скорее всего выберу один из двух, что вчера купила.
Я получила огромное удовольствие работая над этой вышивкой – лёгкость с отличным результатом!
*хотела написать больше об этой работе, но без русских букв на клавиатуре, это превращается в пытку (мой новый ноутбук ждёт буквы-наклейки высланные с Украины).
I made some progress on my embroidery today, sacrificing some other things like grocery shopping and some house cleaning. Well, the house is not that bad and I still might do the grocery shopping.
I wished the car had more red color shades. It’s a bit too much pink there for my taste but I’ll have to live with it now and see what the end result will be.

Так выглядит “жук” сегодня. Неплохой прогресс.
Единственное, что мне не совсем нравится – много розовых оттенков. Если бы я вышивала снова, то розовые цвета поменяла бы на разные оттенки красного.
